UNI JPEC & Reaching for Higher Ground

The University of Northern Iowa's John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center is pleased to serve on UNI's Reaching for Higher Ground panel. Further, the JPEC is pleased to be able to offer one or two events per year on the theme of the year for Reaching for Higher Ground and UNI Corner Stone. This year's theme is Food. Below is information on the two panels that the JPEC is hosting and moderating as part of this year-long focus on food. Paper or Plastic and Other Food Myths
Which is better -- paper or plastic? Is it healthier to use a cloth shopping bag? Is a ceramic coffee mug more environmentally friendly than paper or stryofoam? Are plastic microwave containers healthy? What can companies do to reduce, recycle, and reuse? These questions and more will be explored by a panel of experts including: Dr. Catherine Zeman of the Recycle Reuse Technology Transfer Center, Joe Bolick of the Iowa Waste Reduction Center, Carol Petersen of UNI's Dining Services, Mike Smith of Hy-Vee and Bill Snitker of Hockenberg. Information displays will be available as well as after-presentation conversation with the presenters.
